Over a year and half ago, we had the pleasure of meeting staff from the San Antonio Scorpions FC, and immediately knew we shared a lot in common. One of the first individuals we met from the organization was Mr. Evan Mitz. He has proven to become a great believer in what we do, and has also become a friend. The Scorpions are a professional soccer team out of the North American Soccer League celebrating their first season. Beyond the fact that we have a passion for soccer, what makes us personally connected to this club is their unique business model which promotes a social good in the community; 100% of the profits benefit the special needs community through Morgan’s Wonderland. OCI Group has been in discussions with the Scorpions since its inception; in fact, as a company, we bought season tickets before there was a stadium or even a team! We believe in what they are doing as an organization and what they mean to this city.
This partnership represents all we believe in; organizations that understand that business can have a transformative impact on the community. Scorpions Team President Michael Hitchcock states, “We are honored to have a partner that is committed to changing lives and helping prepare young men and women for success. As an organization, we want to make sure that our impact isn`t just felt on the field, but off the field as well. That is why our relationship with OCI Group is so important to us and why we are excited to see how our relationship will impact lives throughout our community moving forward.” This partnership represents all we believe in; organizations that understand that business can have a transformative impact on the community. Currently we are exploring avenues of how to continue to engage the San Antonio community not only through sport, but through leadership and educational initiatives. We look forward to being creative and collaborating with the Scorpions on positively impacting people for years to come.
